حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا اعْتَكَفَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لِلصُّبْحِ وَبَدَا الصُّبْحُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلاَةُ.
English Translation
Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Hafsa (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrates that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would, when the mu'adhdhin finished the Adhan for Fajr and dawn had become apparent, offer two light rak'at (Sunnah of Fajr) before the congregational prayer was established.
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا معمول تھا کہ جب مؤذن فجر کی اذان دے چکتا اور صبح صادق نمودار ہو جاتی تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نماز (فرض) قائم ہونے سے پہلے دو ہلکی رکعتیں (سنت فجر) ادا فرماتے۔
