Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ حَفْصَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ مِنَ الأَذَانِ لِصَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ وَبَدَا الصُّبْحُ رَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُقَامَ الصَّلاَةُ .
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn 'Umar reported that Hadrat Hafsa, the Mother of the Believers, informed him that when the Mu'adhdhin became silent after calling (people) to the dawn prayer, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commenced the dawn (prayer) when it dawned by observing two short rak'ahs before the commencement of the (Fard) prayer
Urdu Translation
امام مالک ؒ نے نافع سے اور انھوں نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی کہ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے انھیں بتایاکہ جب موذن صبح کی اذان کہہ کر خاموش ہوجاتا اور صبح ظاہر ہوجاتی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نماز کی اقامت سے پہلے دو مختصر رکعتیں پڑھتے ۔
