Abdullah bin Maslama narrated to us, from Malik (upon him be mercy), from Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Hadrat Talha, that he heard Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) say: Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madinah in terms of date-palm groves, and his most beloved property was the garden of Bayruha', which faced the mosque (of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)). The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) would enter it and drink from its pure water. Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) stated: When the verse was revealed: {You will never attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love}, Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) stood up and submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), Allah the Exalted declares: {You will never attain righteousness until you spend of that which you love}, and my most beloved property is Bayruha'. It is charity for the sake of Allah; I hope for its reward and its treasure with Allah the Exalted. O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), dispose of it wherever you see fit as Allah the Exalted guides you. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: Excellent! This is profitable wealth, this is profitable wealth. I have heard what you said, and I am of the opinion that you should distribute it among your close relatives. Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted: I shall do so, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). So Hadrat Abu Hadrat Talha (may Allah be well pleased with him) distributed it among his relatives and paternal cousins. Rawh corroborated this. And Ibn Mubarak and Ibn Uyayna narrated from Ishaq, from Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him).

ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے بیان کیا، مالک رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ سے، اسحاق بن عبداللہ بن ابی حضرت طلحہ سے کہ انہوں نے حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو فرماتے سنا: حضرت ابو حضرت طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ مدینہ منورہ کے انصار میں سب سے زیادہ کھجوروں کے مالک تھے اور ان کا سب سے محبوب مال بیرحاء (باغ) تھا جو مسجد (نبوی) کے سامنے تھا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اس میں تشریف لاتے اور اس کا پاکیزہ پانی نوش فرماتے۔ حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: جب یہ آیت نازل ہوئی {لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ} (ہرگز نیکی کو نہیں پہنچو گے جب تک اپنی پسندیدہ چیزوں میں سے خرچ نہ کرو) تو حضرت ابو حضرت طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کھڑے ہوئے اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اللہ تعالیٰ ارشاد فرماتا ہے {لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ} اور میرا سب سے محبوب مال بیرحاء ہے۔ وہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے لیے صدقہ ہے، میں اس سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی نیکی اور ذخیرۂ آخرت کی امید رکھتا ہوں۔ یا رسول اللہ! آپ اسے جہاں چاہیں رکھ دیں جیسا اللہ تعالیٰ آپ کو سمجھائے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: شاباش! یہ فائدے والا مال ہے، یہ فائدے والا مال ہے۔ میں نے سنا جو تم نے کہا اور میری رائے ہے کہ تم اسے اپنے قریبی رشتہ داروں میں تقسیم کر دو۔ حضرت ابو حضرت طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: ایسا ہی کروں گا یا رسول اللہ! پس حضرت ابو حضرت طلحہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اسے اپنے رشتہ داروں اور چچا کے بیٹوں میں تقسیم کر دیا۔ اس کی متابعت روح نے کی ہے۔ اور ابن مبارک اور ابن عیینہ نے اسحاق سے، انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے بیان کیا ہے۔
