حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ سَمِعَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ أَكْثَرَ أَنْصَارِيٍّ بِالْمَدِينَةِ مَالًا وَكَانَ أَحَبَّ أَمْوَالِهِ إِلَيْهِ بَيْرُحَاءُ وَكَانَتْ مُسْتَقْبِلَةَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْخُلُهَا وَيَشْرَبُ مِنْ مَاءٍ فِيهَا طَيِّبٍ قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ { لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ } قَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ { لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّى تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ } وَإِنَّ أَحَبَّ أَمْوَالِي إِلَيَّ بَيْرُحَاءُ وَإِنَّهَا صَدَقَةٌ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَرْجُو بِرَّهَا وَذُخْرَهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ فَضَعْهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ حَيْثُ أَرَاكَ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَخٍ ذَلِكَ مَالٌ رَابِحٌ ذَاكَ مَالٌ رَابِحٌ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ وَأَنَا أَرَى أَنْ تَجْعَلَهَا فِي الْأَقْرَبِينَ فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ أَفْعَلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَقَسَمَهَا أَبُو طَلْحَةَ فِي أَقَارِبِهِ وَبَنِي عَمِّهِ.
English Translation
Rawh ibn 'Ubada narrated to us: Malik narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn 'Abdullah ibn Abi Talha, who heard Anas ibn Malik say: Abu Talha was the wealthiest of the Ansar in Madina in property, and the dearest of his properties to him was Bayruha', which faced the mosque. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to enter it and drink good water from it. Anas said: When the verse was revealed, "You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love," Abu Talha said: "O Messenger of Allah, Allah says, 'You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love,' and the dearest of my properties to me is Bayruha', and it is a charity for the sake of Allah, Mighty and Sublime; I hope for its righteousness and its store with Allah. So place it, O Messenger of Allah, wherever Allah shows you." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Well done! That is profitable wealth, that is profitable wealth. I have heard, and I think you should place it among your close relatives." Abu Talha said: "I will do so, O Messenger of Allah." He said: So Abu Talha distributed it among his relatives and the sons of his uncle.
