It is narrated by (Hadrat) Rafi' (bin Khadij, may Allah be well pleased with him) who states: We were with the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) at Dhul-Hulayfa. The people were struck by hunger and we obtained camels and sheep. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was at the rear of the people. They hastened and set up cooking pots. He ordered the pots to be overturned. Then he distributed and equated ten sheep to one camel. One of the camels ran away, and the people had few horses. They pursued it but could not catch it. A man shot an arrow at it and Allah stopped it. He declared: "These animals have wildness like wild beasts. Whatever escapes from you, deal with it in this way." My grandfather submitted: We hope — or fear — that we shall encounter the enemy tomorrow and we have no knives. Shall we slaughter with reeds? He declared: "Whatever causes the blood to flow and Allah's Name is mentioned, eat it — except for teeth and nails. I shall tell you why: Teeth are bones, and nails are the knives of the Abyssinians."
اردو ترجمہ
(حضرت) رافع (بن خدیج رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں: ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ ذوالحلیفہ میں تھے۔ لوگوں کو بھوک لگی اور ہمیں اونٹ اور بکریاں ملیں۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم لوگوں میں پیچھے تھے۔ لوگوں نے جلدی کی اور ہانڈیاں چڑھا لیں۔ آپ نے ہانڈیاں الٹانے کا حکم دیا تو وہ الٹ دی گئیں۔ پھر تقسیم فرمایا اور دس بکریاں ایک اونٹ کے برابر قرار دیں۔ ان میں سے ایک اونٹ بھاگ گیا اور لوگوں کے پاس گھوڑے تھوڑے تھے، انہوں نے تعاقب کیا مگر نہ پکڑ سکے۔ ایک شخص نے تیر مارا تو اللہ نے اسے روک دیا۔ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "ان جانوروں میں جنگلی جانوروں کی طرح بھڑکنا ہوتا ہے، جو تم سے بھاگ جائے اس کے ساتھ ایسے ہی کرو۔" میرے دادا نے عرض کیا: ہمیں امید ہے — یا ڈر ہے — کہ کل دشمن سے مقابلہ ہوگا اور ہمارے پاس چھریاں نہیں، تو کیا ہم سرکنڈے سے ذبح کریں؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "جو (آلہ) خون بہا دے اور اللہ کا نام لیا جائے تو کھاؤ، بشرطیکہ دانت اور ناخن نہ ہو۔ میں تمہیں اس کی وجہ بتاتا ہوں: دانت ہڈی ہے اور ناخن حبشیوں کی چھری ہے۔"
