Narrated to us by Muhammad bin Mahbub, narrated to us by Abdul-Wahid, narrated to us by Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Humaid bin Abdur-Rahman, that Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) stated, 'A man came to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted, "I am ruined!" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) asked, "What happened?" He submitted, "I was intimate with my wife during Ramadan." He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared, "Can you free a slave?" He submitted, "No." He declared, "Can you fast two consecutive months?" He submitted, "No." He declared, "Can you feed sixty needy people?" He submitted, "No." Then a man from the Ansar came with a large basket (araq) containing dates. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared, "Take this and give it in charity." He submitted, "O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! To someone more needy than us? By Him Who has sent you with the truth, there is no household between the two lava fields (of Madinah) more needy than ours." He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared, "Go and feed your family with it."'
اردو ترجمہ
ہم سے محمد بن محبوب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے عبدالواحد نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے معمر نے بیان کیا، زہری سے، حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا اور عرض کیا: میں تو ہلاک ہو گیا! آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے دریافت فرمایا: کیا ہوا؟ عرض کیا: رمضان میں اپنی بیوی سے ہم بستری کر بیٹھا ہوں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: کیا تم ایک غلام آزاد کر سکتے ہو؟ عرض کیا: نہیں۔ فرمایا: کیا تم لگاتار دو ماہ کے روزے رکھ سکتے ہو؟ عرض کیا: نہیں۔ فرمایا: کیا تم ساٹھ مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلا سکتے ہو؟ عرض کیا: نہیں۔ فرمایا: پھر انصار کا ایک شخص ایک ٹوکرا (عرق) لے آیا جس میں کھجوریں تھیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اسے لے جاؤ اور صدقہ کر دو۔ اس نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم سے زیادہ محتاج کسی کو دوں؟ اس ذات کی قسم جس نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا ہے، مدینے کے دونوں کناروں (حرّوں) کے درمیان ہم سے زیادہ محتاج کوئی گھرانا نہیں ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جاؤ اسے اپنے اہل و عیال کو کھلاؤ۔
