Narrated to us by Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah, Muhammad bin Ja'far narrated to me, from Abu Hazim, from Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah al-Salami, from his father Hadrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be well pleased with him), who stated, 'One day I was sitting with some Companions of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) at a halt on the road to Makkah. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was encamped ahead of us. The people were in the state of ihram, but I was not. They spotted a wild donkey while I was busy mending my sandals, so they did not inform me of it, though they wished that I had seen it myself. I turned around and saw it. I went to the horse, saddled it, and mounted, but forgot the whip and the spear. I said to them: Hand me the whip and the spear. They said: No, by Allah! We shall not assist you in hunting it in any way. I became angry, dismounted, took them myself, then mounted again and charged at the donkey and brought it down. Then I came with it after it had died. They began eating from it, then they had doubts about eating it while they were in the state of ihram. We moved on, and I had hidden a foreleg with me. We caught up with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and asked him about it. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared, "Do you have any of it with you?" I submitted, "Yes." I presented the foreleg to him and he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ate it until he finished it, while he was in the state of ihram. This hadith was also narrated to me by Hadrat Zaid bin Aslam, from Ata bin Yasar, from Hadrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him).'

ہم سے عبدالعزیز بن عبداللہ نے بیان کیا، کہا مجھ سے محمد بن جعفر نے بیان کیا، ابو حازم سے، عبداللہ بن ابی قتادہ سلمی سے، ان کے والد حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ ایک دن میں مکہ کے راستے میں ایک منزل پر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے بعض صحابہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم کے ساتھ بیٹھا ہوا تھا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہمارے آگے قیام فرما تھے۔ لوگ احرام باندھے ہوئے تھے لیکن میں نے احرام نہیں باندھا تھا۔ انہوں نے ایک جنگلی گدھا دیکھا اور میں اپنے جوتے گانٹھنے میں مصروف تھا تو انہوں نے مجھے خبر نہ دی حالانکہ وہ چاہتے تھے کہ کاش میں خود دیکھ لیتا۔ پھر میں نے مڑ کر دیکھا تو اسے دیکھ لیا۔ میں گھوڑے کی طرف اٹھا، اس پر زین کسی، پھر سوار ہوا لیکن کوڑا اور نیزہ بھول گیا۔ میں نے ان سے کہا کہ مجھے کوڑا اور نیزہ دے دو۔ انہوں نے کہا: نہیں، بخدا! ہم اس شکار میں تمہاری کوئی مدد نہیں کریں گے۔ مجھے غصہ آیا، میں اترا اور خود لے لیا، پھر سوار ہوا اور گدھے پر حملہ کیا اور اسے مار گرایا۔ پھر میں اسے لے کر آیا، وہ مر چکا تھا۔ لوگ اسے کھانے لگے، پھر انہیں شک ہوا کہ وہ حالت احرام میں ہیں (تو کیا یہ کھانا جائز ہے؟)۔ ہم آگے چلے اور میں نے ایک ران اپنے پاس چھپا رکھی تھی۔ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے جا ملے اور آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے اس بارے میں دریافت کیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: کیا تمہارے پاس اس میں سے کچھ ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا: ہاں۔ پھر میں نے وہ ران آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں پیش کی تو آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اسے تناول فرمایا یہاں تک کہ پوری ختم فرما لی، حالانکہ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم محرم تھے۔ یہی حدیث مجھ سے زید بن اسلم نے بیان کی، عطاء بن یسار سے، حضرت ابو قتادہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے، نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے۔
