'Affan told us, Shu'bah told us, from 'Adi b. Thabit, from Zayd b. Wahb, from Thabit b. Wadi'ah: that a man from Banu Fazarah brought the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) some lizards he had trapped. He began turning over one of the lizards in front of him, and said: "A nation that was transformed." He said: And to the best of my knowledge he said: "I do not know what became of it," and he said: "I do not know - perhaps this is one of them." Shu'bah said: I heard it thus; and Husayn said, from Zayd b. Wahb, from Hudhayfah, he said, and mentioned something similar to this, he said: "So he neither commanded it nor forbade anyone."
