Khalaf ibn al-Walid told us: Ibn al-Mubarak told us, from Sa'id ibn Iyas al-Jurayri, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: When the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) put on a new garment, he would name it by its name — a shirt or a turban — then he would say: "O God, to You is praise; You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its good and the good of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for."
