حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى حَدَّثَنِي حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَتَى أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا سَعِيدٍ أَلَمْ أُخْبَرْ أَنَّكَ بَايَعْتَ أَمِيرَيْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَجْتَمِعَ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَمِيرٍ وَاحِدٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَايَعْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ فَجَاءَ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ فَسَاقُونِي إِلَى جَيْشِ بْنِ دَلَحَةَ فَبَايَعْتُهُ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِيَّاهَا كُنْتُ أَخَافُ إِيَّاهَا كُنْتُ أَخَافُ وَمَدَّ بِهَا حَمَّادٌ صَوْتَهُ قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ لَا يَنَامَ نَوْمًا وَلَا يُصْبِحَ صَبَاحًا وَلَا يُمْسِيَ مَسَاءً إِلَّا وَعَلَيْهِ أَمِيرٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَلَكِنِّي أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أُبَايِعَ أَمِيرَيْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَجْتَمِعَ النَّاسُ عَلَى أَمِيرٍ وَاحِدٍ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Ishaq ibn 'Isa told us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to me, from Bishr ibn Harb, that Ibn 'Umar came to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and said: "O Abu Sa'id, was I not informed that you gave the pledge of allegiance to two commanders before the people had united upon a single commander?" He said: "Yes, I pledged allegiance to Ibn al-Zubayr, then the people of Syria came and drove me to the army of Jaysh ibn Dahyah, and I pledged allegiance to him." Ibn 'Umar said: "That is exactly what I feared, that is exactly what I feared" — and Hammad raised his voice with it. Abu Sa'id said: "O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, did you not hear that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever is able to ensure that he does not sleep a single sleep, nor greet a morning, nor greet an evening, except that there is a commander over him, let him do so'?" He said: "Yes, but I dislike pledging allegiance to two commanders before the people unite upon one commander."
