نَاعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْسُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى الأَشْدَقِ، عَنْمَكْحُولٍ، عَنْأَبِي سَلامٍ الْبَاهِلِيِّ، عَنْأَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ، عَنْعُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، قَالَ:"خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى بَدْرٍ فَلَقِيَ بِهَا الْعَدُوَّ، فَلَمَّا هَزَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ , اتَّبَعَتْهُمْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَقْتُلُونَهُمْ، وَأَحْدَقَتْ طَائِفَةٌ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَاسْتَوْلَتْ طَائِفَةٌ عَلَى النَّهْبِ وَالْعَسْكَرِ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ الَّذِينَ طَلَبُوا الْعَدُوَّ، قَالُوا: لَنَا النَّفْلَ، نَحْنُ طَلَبْنَا الْعَدُوَّ، وَبِنَا نَفَاهُمُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهَزَمَهُمْ، وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أَحْدَقُوا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَا أَنْتُمْ بِأَحَقَّ بِهِ مِنَّا، بَلْ هُوَ لَنَا , نَحْنُ أَحْدَقْنَا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَنَالَهُ مِنَ الْعَدُوِّ غِرَّةٌ، وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَوْلَوْا عَلَى النَّهْبِ وَالْعَسْكَرِ: مَا أَنْتُمْ بِأَحَقَّ بِهِ مِنَّا، بَلْ هُوَ لَنَا , نَحْنُ اسْتَوْلَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَحْرَزْنَاهُ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ: يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ قُلِ الأَنْفَالُ لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ سورة الأنفال آية 1 الآيَةَ، فَقَسَمَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَهُمْ عَنْ فُوَاقٍ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يُنَفِّلُهُمْ بَادِينَ الرُّبُعَ، فَإِذَا قَفَلُوا الثُّلُثَ، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبَرَةً مِنْ ظَهْرِ بَعِيرِهِ، فَقَالَ: مَا يَحِلُّ لِي مِنَ الْفَيْءِ قَدْرُ هَذِهِ الْوَبَرَةِ إِلا الْخُمُسَ، وَالْخُمُسُ مَرْدُودٌ عَلَيْكُمْ، فَأَدُّوا الْخِيَاطَ وَالْمَخِيطَ، وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْغُلُولَ، فَإِنَّهُ عَارٌ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْجِهَادِ، فَإِنَّهُ بَابٌ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ يُذْهِبُ اللَّهُ بِهِ الْغَمَّ وَالْهَمَّ" , وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَكْرَهُ النَّفْلَ، وَيَقُولُ:" يَرُدُّ قَوِيُّ الْقَوْمِ عَلَى ضَعِيفِهِمْ".
English Translation
Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went out to Badr where he met the enemy. When Allah defeated them, a group of Muslims pursued them killing them, a group surrounded the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for protection, and a group seized the spoils and the enemy camp. When those who had pursued the enemy returned, they said: The spoils are ours — we pursued the enemy and through us Allah routed and defeated them. Those who had surrounded the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: You have no more right to it than us — we protected the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) lest the enemy attack him. Those who had seized the spoils said: You have no more right to it than us — we took possession of it and secured it. Then Allah the Exalted revealed to His Messenger: "They ask you about the spoils. Say: The spoils are for Allah and the Messenger. So fear Allah and amend that which is between you" (al-Anfal: 1). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) then divided it among them equally. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to give them a quarter at the start, and a third upon return. He took a hair from the back of his camel and said: "What is lawful for me from the war booty is not even the equivalent of this hair, except the fifth, and the fifth is returned to you. So return even the needle and the thread. Beware of treachery in war spoils, for it is a disgrace for its owner on the Day of Resurrection. And strive in jihad, for it is a gate of the gates of Paradise through which Allah removes grief and worry." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) disliked giving extra shares and said: "Let the strong among the people return to their weak ones."'
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا: رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبدر کے لیے نکلے اور دشمن سے مقابلہ ہوا، جب اللہ عزوجل نے دشمن کو شکست دی تو مسلمانوں کا ایک گروہ دشمن کا پیچھا کرتے ہوئے انہیں قتل کرنے لگا، ایک جماعت رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے گرد جمع ہو گئی، اور ایک جماعت مالِ غنیمت اور لشکر پر قابض ہو گئی، پھر جب دشمن کا پیچھا کرنے والے واپس آئے تو کہنے لگے: مالِ غنیمت پر ہمارا حق ہے، ہم نے دشمن کا تعاقب کیا اور اللہ عزوجل نے ہمارے ہاتھوں ان کو بھگایا اور شکست دی، اور جنہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا پہرہ دیا تھا، انہوں نے کہا: تمہیں ہم پر کوئی ترجیح حاصل نہیں، بلکہ مالِ غنیمت ہمارا ہے، ہم نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی حفاظت کی کہ دشمن کی کوئی غفلت ان پر اثر انداز نہ ہو، اور جنہوں نے مالِ غنیمت پر قبضہ کیا تھا، انہوں نے کہا: تمہیں ہم پر کوئی فوقیت حاصل نہیں، بلکہ یہ مال ہمارا ہے، ہم نے اس پر قبضہ کیا اور اسے محفوظ بنایا۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب التفسير/حدیث: 982]
