English Translation
It is narrated from Iyas bin Salamah that his father (Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa', may Allah be pleased with him) heard from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that a man sneezed in his presence, so he (peace be upon him) said, "May Allah have mercy on you." Then he sneezed again, so he (peace be upon him) said, "He has a cold." (That is, if someone is sneezing due to a cold, how long can one keep saying 'May Allah have mercy on you'?)
Urdu Translation
ایاس بن سلمہ سے روایت ہے کہان کے والد (سیدنا سلمہ بن اکوع رضی اللہ عنہ) نے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس ایک آدمی کو چھینک آئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ((”یرحمک اللہ“))۔ پھر اسے (دوبارہ) چھینک آئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس کو زکام ہو گیا ہے۔ (یعنی اگر کسی کو زکام سے چھینکیں آ رہی ہوں تو اس کو کہاں تک ((”یرحمک اللہ“)) کہیں گے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1915]
