English Translation
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Two men sneezed in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) responded to one but did not respond to the other. The one to whom he did not respond said, "He sneezed and you responded to him, but I sneezed and you did not respond to me." He (peace be upon him) said: "He said 'al-Hamdu lillah' (Praise be to Allah), but you did not say 'al-Hamdu lillah' (which is why I did not respond)."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے سامنے دو آدمیوں کو چھینک آئی۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک کو جواب دیا اور دوسرے کو جواب نہ دیا۔ جس کو جواب نہ دیا تھا، اس نے کہا کہ اس کو چھینک آئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے جواب دیا، لیکن مجھے چھینک آئی تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے جواب نہ دیا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس نے (یعنی جس کا جواب دیا)”الحمدللہ“کہا تھا اور تو نے”الحمدللہ“نہ کہا (اس لئے جواب نہ دیا)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1914]
