English Translation
Abu Ishaq says: A man came to al-Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Abu Umarah (may Allah be pleased with him)! On the day of Hunayn you fled." He said, "I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not turn his face away, but some hasty and unarmed people advanced toward the tribe of Hawazin. They were archers, and they let loose a volley of arrows like a swarm of locusts, so these people fell back, and the people came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), while Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith was leading his (peace be upon him) mule. Then he (peace be upon him) dismounted from the mule and supplicated and sought help, and he (peace be upon him) kept saying: 'I am the Prophet, this is no lie; I am the son of Abd al-Muttalib. O Allah! Send down Your help.'" Al-Bara (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Allah, when the fighting grew fierce, we would shelter ourselves behind him (peace be upon him), and the bravest among us was the one who stayed level with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in battle.

سیدنا ابواسحٰق کہتے ہیں کہایک آدمی سیدنا براء رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آیا اور کہا کہ اے ابوعمارہ رضی اللہ عنہ! حنین کے دن تم بھاگ گئے تھے تو انہوں نے کہا کہ میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے منہ نہیں موڑا لیکن چند جلد باز اور بے ہتھیار لوگ قبیلہ ہوازن کی طرف گئے، وہ تیرانداز تھے اور انہوں نے تیروں کی ایک بوچھاڑ کی جیسے ٹڈی دل ہو، تو یہ لوگ سامنے سے ہٹ گئے اور لوگ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے اور ابوسفیان بن حارث آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے خچر کو چلاتے تھے۔ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمخچر پر سے اترے اور دعا کی اور مدد مانگی اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمفرماتے تھے کہ میں نبی ہوں، یہ جھوٹ نہیں، میں عبدالمطلب کا بیٹا ہوں، اے اللہ! اپنی مدد اتار۔ سیدنا براء رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کی قسم جب خونخوار لڑائی ہوتی، تو ہم اپنے آپ کو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آڑ میں بچاتے اور ہم میں بہادر وہ تھے جو لڑائی میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے برابر رہتے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1190]
