Hadrat Mughira (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) lagged behind (in a journey) and I also lagged behind along with him. After having relieved himself, he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Have you any water with you?' I brought to him a jar of water; he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) washed his palms, and face, and when he tried to get his forearms out (he could not) for the sleeve of the gown was tight. He therefore brought them out from under the gown and, throwing it over his shoulders, he washed his forearms. He then wiped his forelock, his turban and his socks. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then mounted and I also mounted (the ride) and came to the people. They had begun the prayer with Hadrat ' Abd al-Rahman bin 'Awf (may Allah be well pleased with him) leading them and had completed a rak'a. When he perceived the presence of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), he began to retire. He (the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) signed to him to continue and offered prayer along with them. Then when he had pronounced the salutation, the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) got up and I also got up with him, and we offered the rak'a which had been finished before we came.

حمید الطویل نے کہا: ہمیں بکر بن عبد اللہ مزنی نے حدیث بیان کی، انہوں نے عروہ بن مغیرہ بن شعبہ سے، انہوں نے اپنے والد حضرت مغیرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم (قافلے سے) پیچھے رہ گئے اور میں بھی آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ پیچھے رہ گیا، جب آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے قضائے حاجت فرما لی تو ارشاد فرمایا: ''کیا تمہارے ساتھ پانی ہے؟'' میں آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس وضو کرنے کا برتن لایا، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ اور چہرہ دھویا، پھر دونوں بازو کھولنے لگے تو جبے کی آستین تنگ پڑ گئی، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنا ہاتھ جبے کے نیچے سے نکالا اور جبہ کندھوں پر ڈال لیا، اپنے دونوں بازو دھوئے اور اپنے سر کے اگلے حصے، پگڑی اور موزوں پر مسح فرمایا، پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سوار ہوئے اور میں (بھی) سوار ہوا، ہم لوگوں کے پاس پہنچے تو وہ نماز کے لیے کھڑے تھے، حضرت عبد الرحمن بن عوف رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ ان کو نماز پڑھا رہے تھے اور ایک رکعت پڑھا چکے تھے۔ جب انہیں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم (کی تشریف آوری) کا احساس ہوا تو پیچھے ہٹنے لگے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انہیں اشارہ فرمایا (کہ نماز پوری کرو) تو انہوں نے نماز پڑھا دی، جب انہوں نے سلام پھیرا تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کھڑے ہو گئے، میں بھی کھڑا ہو گیا اور ہم نے وہ رکعت پڑھی جو ہم سے پہلے ہو چکی تھی۔
