English Translation
Narrated Al-Bara (may Allah be pleased with him): The Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who were present at the Battle of Badr told me that their number was equal to those of Talut's companions who crossed the river with him, and they were three hundred and ten plus men. Al-Bara said: By Allah, no one crossed the river with him except believers. (See Surah Al-Baqarah: 249)
Urdu Translation
سیدنا براء رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمجھ سے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے اصحاب نے بیان کیا جو کہ بدر میں موجود تھے کہ ان کی تعداد اتنی ہی تھی جتنی طالوت (بادشاہ) کے ساتھ والوں کی تھی، جو ان کے ساتھ نہر پار کر گئے تھے اور وہ تین سو دس سے کچھ اوپر آدمی تھے۔ سیدنا براء رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ کی قسم! سوائے مومن (لوگوں) کے کوئی ان کے ساتھ دریا پار نہ جا سکا۔ (دیکھئیے سورۃ البقرہ کی آیت: 249)[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1601]
