حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ الرِّشْكُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مُطَرِّفَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُعْرَفُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ قَالَ " نَعَمْ ". قَالَ فَلِمَ يَعْمَلُ الْعَامِلُونَ قَالَ "كُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ لِمَا خُلِقَ لَهُ ـ أَوْ لِمَا يُسِّرَ لَهُ" .
English Translation
Adam narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, Yazid al-Rishk narrated to us, he said: I heard Mutarrif ibn 'Abd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir narrating from 'Imran ibn Husayn (may Allah be well pleased with him), who said: A man submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Are the people of Paradise and the people of the Fire already known? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Yes." He submitted: Then why do those who act perform deeds? He stated: "Everyone acts according to what he was created for — or what has been made easy for him."
Urdu Translation
ہم سے آدم نے بیان کیا، ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، ہم سے یزید رِشک نے بیان کیا، کہا میں نے مطرف بن عبداللہ بن شخیر کو بیان کرتے سنا، انہوں نے حضرت عمران بن حصین رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کیا، انہوں نے فرمایا کہ ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! کیا اہلِ جنت اور اہلِ دوزخ پہلے سے معلوم ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "ہاں۔" اس نے عرض کیا: پھر عمل کرنے والے کیوں عمل کریں؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: "ہر شخص وہی عمل کرتا ہے جس کے لیے وہ پیدا کیا گیا ہے ـ یا جو اس کے لیے آسان کر دیا گیا ہے۔"
