Arabic (Original)
وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي جَعْفَرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رضى الله عنه عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ رَجُلاً سَأَلَ بَعْضَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنْ يُسْلِفَهُ أَلْفَ دِينَارِ، فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهِ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى. وَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ وَعَطَاءٌ إِذَا أَجَّلَهُ فِي الْقَرْضِ جَازَ.
English Translation
Hadrat Al-Layth (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: Ja'far bin Rabi'a narrated to me from Hadrat 'Abd al-Rahman bin Hurmuz, from Hadrat Abu Hurayra (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), that he mentioned a man who asked one of the Children of Israel to lend him a thousand dinars, so he gave it to him for a specified term. Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) and 'Ata' said: If a term is set for a loan, it is permissible.
Urdu Translation
اور لیث نے کہا مجھ سے جعفر بن ربیعہ نے بیان کیا، عبدالرحمٰن بن ہرمز سے، حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے کہ آپ نے ایک شخص کا ذکر فرمایا جس نے بنی اسرائیل میں سے کسی سے ہزار دینار قرض مانگا تو اس نے ایک مقررہ مدت تک دے دیا۔ اور حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما اور عطاء نے فرمایا: جب قرض میں مدت مقرر کی جائے تو یہ جائز ہے۔
