حدثنا أخبرنا بن منصور بن سيار حدثنا عتاب بن زياد حدثنا أبو حمزة السكري عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صالحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الإمام ضامن والمؤذن مؤتمن اللهم أرشد الأئمة واغفر للمؤذنين قالوا يا رسول الله لقد تركتنا نتنافس في الأذان بعدك فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أنه يكون بعدي أو بعدك قوم سفلتهم مؤذنوهموهذا الحديثُ قد روى صدره جماعة عن الأعمش على اضطرابهم فيه وفي إسناده وآخر هذا الحديث لاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ إلاَّ أبو حمزة السكري ولم يتابع عليه
English Translation
Ibn Mansur ibn Sayyar informed us, Attab ibn Ziyad narrated to us, Abu Hamzah al-Sukkari narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who stated: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «The Imam is a guarantor and the mu'adhdhin is entrusted. O Allah, guide the Imams and forgive the mu'adhdhins.» They said: O Messenger of Allah, you have made us compete for the adhan after you. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «There will be after me — or after you — a people whose lowliest are their mu'adhdhins.» The first part of this hadith has been narrated by a group from al-A'mash with variation in it and its chain. The last part of this hadith — we do not know that anyone narrated it except Abu Hamzah al-Sukkari, and he was not corroborated in it.
