حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ هَارُونَ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ فِي كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ قِرَاءَةٌ فَمَا أَسْمَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْمَعْنَاكُمْ وَمَا لَمْ يُسْمِعْنَا لَمْ نُسْمِعْكُمْ.
English Translation
Waki' told us, from Harun al-Thaqafi, who said: I heard Ata', from Abu Hurayrah, who said: In every prayer there is recitation. Whatever the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, made us hear, we made you hear, and whatever he did not make us hear, we did not make you hear.
