English Translation
Hushaym b. Bashir told us, Yahya b. Sa'id told us, from Sulayman b. Yasar, from Umm Salamah, wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that Subay'ah bint al-Harith gave birth twenty nights, or thereabouts, after her husband's death, and wished to remarry. Abu al-Sanabil said to her, "You may not do that until the longer of the two periods has passed for you." This was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said, "She may marry whenever she wishes."
