حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَتْ لَمَّا مَاتَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ قُلْتُ غَرِيبٌ وَمَاتَ بِأَرْضِ غُرْبَةٍ فَأَفَضْتُ بُكَاءً فَجَاءَتْ امْرَأَةٌ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تُسْعِدَنِي مِنْ الصَّعِيدِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تُدْخِلِي الشَّيْطَانَ بَيْتًا قَدْ أَخْرَجَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مِنْهُ قَالَتْ فَلَمْ أَبْكِ عَلَيْهِ.
English Translation
Sufyan b. 'Uyaynah told us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from his father, from 'Ubayd b. 'Umayr, from Umm Salamah, who said: When Abu Salamah died, I said, "A stranger, and he died in a foreign land" - and I wept profusely. A woman came, wishing to help me by wailing loudly from the ground, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you want to bring Satan into a house from which Allah, Mighty and Sublime, has expelled him?" She said, "So I did not weep for him [in that way]."
