English Translation

Rawh told us, al-Hajjaj ibn al-Aswad told us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal: that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Those who love one another for the sake of Allah will be in the shade of the Throne on the Day of Resurrection. Rawh told us, Shu'bah told us, from al-Hakam, who said: I heard Urwah ibn al-Nazzal, or al-Nazzal ibn Urwah, narrate from Mu'adh ibn Jabal. (Shu'bah said: I asked him whether he heard it from Mu'adh, and he said he had not heard it from him directly but had met him.) That a man said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me of a deed that will admit me to Paradise — and he mentioned something like the hadith of Ma'mar from Asim; al-Hakam said he also heard it from Maymun ibn Abi Shabib.
