English Translation
Abu al-Nadr narrated to us: Shu'ba narrated to us, from Yahya b. Abi Sulaym, who said: I heard Abaya b. Rifa'a b. Rafi' b. Khadij narrating that his grandfather, when he died, left behind a slave-girl, a water-carrying camel, a young cupper, and land. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke concerning the slave-girl and forbade her earnings - Shu'ba said: "for fear that she would engage in immorality" - and said: "Whatever the cupper earns, feed it to the water-carrying camel," and regarding the land he said: "Cultivate it or leave it."
