English Translation
Musa ibn Dawud told us, [he said]: Nafi' — that is, the freedman of Ibn Umar — told us, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, that Ibn az-Zubayr said: "Umar would not hear the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, after this verse was revealed, without asking him to clarify [what he had said]" — meaning [in reference to] the saying of Allah, the Exalted: {Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet}.
