English Translation
Isma'il told us, al-Dastawa'i told us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir told me, Iyad told us, who said: I said to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri: "One of us prays but does not know how many rak'ahs he has prayed." He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If one of you prays and does not know how many rak'ahs he has prayed, let him prostrate twice while seated. And if Satan comes to one of you and says: 'You have broken your ablution,' let him say: 'You have lied' — unless he found its smell with his nose or heard its sound with his ear."
