Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ إِذَا ابْتَدَأَ الصَّلاَةَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ رَفَعَهُمَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ رَفْعَهُمَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ . أَحَدٌ غَيْرَ مَالِكٍ فِيمَا أَعْلَمُ .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) — when he commenced the prayer, he would raise his hands level with his shoulders; and when he raised his head from bowing, he would raise them less than that. Abu Dawud said: No one other than Malik — to my knowledge — mentioned 'less than that.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ جب نماز شروع فرماتے تو ہاتھ کندھوں کے برابر بلند فرماتے اور جب رکوع سے سر اٹھاتے تو اس سے کم بلند فرماتے۔ ابوداود فرماتے ہیں: مالک کے سوا کسی نے — میرے علم کے مطابق — «اس سے کم» کا ذکر نہیں کیا۔
