Alqamah reported from Abdullah: He was with Umar ibn al-Khattab when a man and his wife came. The man said: 'I divorced her then took her back.' The woman said: 'The fact of what happened does not prevent me from stating the matter truthfully.' Umar said: 'Tell me.' She said: 'He divorced me, then left me until I was at the end of three menstrual periods and the blood stopped. I put out my washing water, closed my door, and removed my clothes. Then he knocked on the door and said: I have taken you back.' Umar said: 'What do you say about her, O son of Umm Abd?' I said: 'I consider him more entitled to her as long as prayer has not become permissible for her.' Umar said: 'How excellent is your opinion, and I hold the same.'
