Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: We were with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) when a Bedouin stood up and submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Judge my case according to the Book of Allah.' His opponent stood and said: 'He has spoken the truth, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Judge his case according to the Book of Allah, and allow me to speak.' The Noble the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'Speak.' He said: 'My son was a laborer for this man — and a laborer (Asif) means a hired worker — and he committed adultery with his wife. I was told that my son deserved stoning, so I ransomed him with a hundred sheep and a slave-girl. Then I asked the people of knowledge, and they informed me that his wife deserves stoning, while my son deserves a hundred lashes and one year of exile.' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: 'By Him in Whose Hand is my life! I shall judge between you according to the Book of Allah. The slave-girl and sheep are to be returned. Your son is to receive a hundred lashes and one year of exile. And O Unais!' — addressing a man from the Aslam tribe — 'go to this man's wife, and if she confesses, stone her.' Hadrat Unais (may Allah be well pleased with him) went to her and she confessed, so he stoned her.
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس موجود تھے کہ ایک اعرابی کھڑا ہوا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میرا فیصلہ کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فرما دیجیے۔ پھر اس کا مقابل فریق کھڑا ہوا اور کہا: یا رسول اللہ! اس نے سچ کہا ہے، ہمارا فیصلہ کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فرمائیے اور مجھے (بات کہنے کی) اجازت دیجیے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کہو۔ اس نے کہا: میرا لڑکا اس شخص کے یہاں مزدوری کرتا تھا — عسیف یعنی اجیر (مزدور) — پھر اس نے اس کی بیوی سے زنا کر لیا۔ لوگوں نے مجھے بتایا کہ میرے لڑکے پر رجم واجب ہے تو میں نے سو بکریوں اور ایک باندی کے عوض فدیہ دے کر (اپنے لڑکے کو) چھڑا لیا۔ پھر میں نے اہلِ علم سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے بتایا کہ اس کی بیوی پر رجم ہے اور میرے لڑکے پر سو کوڑے اور ایک سال کی جلاوطنی۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے! میں تم دونوں کے درمیان کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فیصلہ کروں گا۔ باندی اور بکریاں واپس کرو، اور تمہارے لڑکے پر سو کوڑے اور ایک سال کی جلاوطنی ہے۔ اور اے انیس! — قبیلۂ اسلم کے ایک شخص سے فرمایا — اس کی بیوی کے پاس جاؤ، اگر وہ اقرار کرے تو اسے رجم کرو۔ چنانچہ حضرت انیس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ اس کے پاس گئے اور اس نے اقرار کیا تو انہوں نے اسے رجم کیا۔
