Narrated by Hadrat Abu Hurayra and Hadrat Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani (may Allah be well pleased with them both): A Bedouin came and submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Judge between us according to the Book of Allah.' His opponent stood up and said: 'He speaks the truth. Judge between us according to the Book of Allah.' The Bedouin said: 'My son was a laborer working for this man, and he committed adultery with his wife. People told me that my son deserves stoning. So I ransomed my son from him with a hundred sheep and a slave-girl. Then I asked the people of knowledge, and they told me that my son deserves a hundred lashes and a year of exile.' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'I will judge between you according to the Book of Allah. The slave-girl and the sheep shall be returned to you. Your son shall receive a hundred lashes and one year of exile. And as for you, O Unays, go tomorrow to this man's wife, and if she confesses, then stone her.' So Unays went to her in the morning and stoned her.

ہم سے آدم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابن ابی ذئب نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے زہری نے بیان کیا، عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ سے، حضرت ابو ہریرہ اور حضرت زید بن خالد جہنی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے کہ دونوں نے فرمایا: ایک بدوی آیا اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہمارے درمیان کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فیصلہ فرمائیں۔ اس کا فریقِ مخالف کھڑا ہوا اور کہا: اس نے سچ کہا، ہمارے درمیان کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فیصلہ فرمائیں۔ بدوی نے عرض کیا: میرا بیٹا اس شخص کا مزدور تھا، اس نے اس کی بیوی سے زنا کیا۔ لوگوں نے مجھ سے کہا: تمہارے بیٹے پر رجم ہے۔ میں نے اپنے بیٹے کو سو بکریاں اور ایک باندی دے کر چھڑا لیا، پھر اہلِ علم سے پوچھا تو انہوں نے بتایا: تمہارے بیٹے پر سو کوڑے اور ایک سال کی جلاوطنی ہے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: میں تمہارے درمیان کتاب اللہ کے مطابق فیصلہ کروں گا۔ باندی اور بکریاں تجھے واپس کی جائیں گی اور تیرے بیٹے پر سو کوڑے اور ایک سال کی جلاوطنی ہے۔ اور اے انیس! تم صبح اس شخص کی بیوی کے پاس جاؤ، اگر وہ اعتراف کرے تو اسے رجم کرو۔ پس انیس صبح اس کے پاس گئے اور اسے رجم کیا۔
