حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ وَاصَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abdus-Samad told us, my father told us, Ayyub told us, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) practiced continuous fasting, so the people also practiced continuous fasting; he then forbade them from doing so. They said: O Messenger of Allah, but you practice continuous fasting! He said: I am not like you; I am given food and drink.
