Abu Rafi' narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) hosted a guest but could not find enough food for him. He sent me to a Jewish man saying: "Muhammad says to you: lend me flour until the new moon of Rajab." The man said: "Not without a pledge." I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and told him. He said: "By Allah, I am trustworthy in the heavens and trustworthy on earth. Had he lent to me or sold to me, I would have paid him back." When I left his presence, the verse was revealed: {And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to categories of them} to the end of the verse, for He was consoling him about this world.
