Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9810 حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَطَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ ذَكَرَ أَبُو عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي رَبُّ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ لِمِيقَاتِهَا» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ «بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيٌّ؟ قَالَ «الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ» ثُمَّ سَكَتَ عَنِّي وَلَوِ اسْتَزَدْتُهُ لَزَادَنِي
انگریزی ترجمہ
Sulayman ibn al-Hasan al-Attar al-Basri narrated to us, from Ahmad ibn Abdah al-Dabbi, from Hammad ibn Zayd, from al-Hajjaj, from Sulayman who said: Abu Amr al-Shaybani mentioned: The master of this house - meaning Ibn Mas'ud - told me: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): 'Which deeds are best?' He said: 'Prayer at its appointed time.' I said: 'Then which?' He said: 'Dutifulness to parents.' I said: 'Then which?' He said: 'Jihad in the cause of Allah.' Then he fell silent from me, and had I asked him for more, he would have given me more.
