Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:4168 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْبَرْبَرِيُّ وَعَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو السُّكَيْنِ ثنا عَمُّ أَبِي زَحْرِ بْنِ حِصْنٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ مَنْهَبٍ قَالَ قَالَ خُرَيْمُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «هَذِهِ الْحِيرَةُ الْبَيْضَاءُ قَدْ رُفِعَتْ لِي وَهَذِهِ الشَّيْمَاءُ بِنْتُ بُقَيْلَةَ الْأَزْدِيَّةُ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ شَهْبَاءَ مُعْتَجِرَةٌ بِخِمَارٍ أَسْوَدَ» فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنْ نَحْنُ دَخَلْنَا الْحِيرَةَ وَوَجَدْتُهَا عَلَى هَذِهِ الصِّفَةِ فَهِي لِي؟ قَالَ «هِي لَكَ» ثُمَّ ارْتَدَّتِ الْعَرَبُ فَلَمْ يَرْتَدَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْ طَيِّئٍ وَكُنَّا نُقَاتِلُ بَنِي أَسَدٍ وَفِيهِمْ طُلَيْحَةُ بْنُ خُوَيْلِدٍ الْفَقْعَسِيُّ فَامْتَدَحَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَكَانَ فِيمَا قَالَ فِينَا

Khuraym ibn Aws said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "This is the white city of al-Hirah that has been shown to me, and this is al-Shayma' bint Buqaylah al-Azdiyyah on a grey mule, wearing a black head-covering." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, if we enter al-Hirah and find her matching this description, will she be mine?" He said: "She is yours." Then the Arabs apostatized, but none of the tribe of Tayy' apostatized, and we fought Banu Asad, among whom was Tulayhah ibn Khuwaylid al-Faq'asi.
