Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Iblis (Satan) said to his Lord: O Lord, Adam has been sent down, and I know that there will be scriptures and messengers. So what are their scriptures and messengers? He said: Their messengers are angels and prophets from among them, and their scriptures are the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel, and the Criterion (Quran). He asked: And what is my scripture? He said: Your scripture is tattooing, your recitation is poetry, your messengers are soothsayers, your food is that over which the name of Allah is not mentioned, your drink is every intoxicant, your truth is falsehood, your dwelling is the bathhouse, your traps are women, your caller to prayer is the flute, and your mosque is the marketplace.'
