Salim ibn 'Ubaida said:“Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) lost consciousness in his illness, then he regained consciousness and said: ‘Has the ritual prayer arrived?’ They said: ‘Yes,’ so he said: ‘Command Hadrat Bilal to give the call to prayer, and command Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.’ Then he lost consciousness, and when he recovered, he said: ‘Has the ritual prayer arrived?’ They said: ‘Yes,’ so he said: ‘Command Hadrat Bilal to give the call to prayer, and command Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.’ Hadrat 'A'isha then said: ‘My father is a melancholy man. If he is given that responsibility, he will weep and lose command of himself. SO if only you would appoint someone else!'
He said: “Then he lost consciousness and recovered, so he said: ‘Command Hadrat Bilal to give the call to prayer, and command Hadrat Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer, for you are the female companions of Yusuf (upon him be peace)!’ Hadrat Bilal was therefore commanded, so he gave the call to prayer, and Hadrat Abu Bakr was commanded, so he led the people in prayer. Then Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) felt light in the head, so he said: ‘Find me someone I can lean on!’ Barira and another man therefore came to him, so he leaned on them. When Hadrat Abu Bakr saw him, the man was about to withdraw, but he signaled for him to stay in his place until Hadrat Abu Bakr completed his ritual prayer. Then Allah’s Messenger died (Allah bless him and give him peace), so 'Umar said: ‘If I hear anyone mention that Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) has died, I will strike him with this sword of mine!”’
He said: “The people were unlettered folk among whom there had never come a prophet before, so they held their tongues. But then they said: ‘O Salim, go to the Companion of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) and summon him.’ So I went to see Hadrat Abu Bakr, in the mosque. I came to him weeping and perplexed, so when he saw me, he said: ‘Has Allah’s Messenger died (Allah bless him and give him peace)?’ I replied: 'Umar says: “If anyone mentions that Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) has died, I will strike him with this sword of mine!” He then said to me: ‘Go outside,’ so I went outside with him. Then he came and found the people in the presence of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace).
“He therefore said: ‘O people, get out of my way,’ so they got out of his way. Then he leaned over him and touched him, saying: “You will surely die, and they will surely die." .’” (Al-Qur'an.9:4O). Who are the two of them?’ Then he extended his hand, so they pledged allegiance to him, and the people paid him a beautiful homage.”
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت سالم بن عبید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ جن کو صحبت نصیب تھی فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مرض میں بے ہوش ہو گئے پھر ہوش آیا تو فرمایا: نماز کا وقت ہو گیا؟ عرض کیا: ہاں۔ فرمایا: حضرت بلال کو حکم دو اذان دے اور حضرت ابو بکر کو حکم دو لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائے۔ پھر بے ہوش ہو گئے، ہوش آیا تو فرمایا: نماز کا وقت ہو گیا؟ عرض کیا: ہاں۔ فرمایا: حضرت بلال کو اذان اور حضرت ابو بکر کو نماز پڑھانے کا حکم دو۔ حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے عرض کیا: میرے والد نرم دل آدمی ہیں، اگر اس مقام پر کھڑے ہوئے تو روئیں گے اور نماز نہ پڑھا سکیں گے۔ کسی اور کو حکم فرمائیے۔ پھر بے ہوش ہو گئے، ہوش آیا تو فرمایا: حضرت بلال کو اذان اور حضرت ابو بکر کو نماز پڑھانے کا حکم دو۔ تم یوسف علیہ السلام والی عورتوں جیسی ہو۔ چنانچہ حضرت بلال نے اذان دی اور حضرت ابو بکر نے نماز پڑھائی۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہلکا پن محسوس فرمایا اور کہا: دیکھو مجھے کوئی سہارا دینے والا ملے۔ بریرہ اور ایک اور شخص آئے اور آپ ان پر ٹیک لگا کر آئے۔ حضرت ابو بکر نے دیکھا تو پیچھے ہٹنے لگے تو آپ نے اشارہ فرمایا کہ اپنی جگہ رہو، یہاں تک کہ حضرت ابو بکر نے نماز مکمل کی۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا وصال ہو گیا۔ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: خدا کی قسم! جو بھی کہے گا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم وفات پا گئے ہیں میں اسے اپنی اس تلوار سے ماروں گا۔ لوگ رک گئے اور کہا: اے سالم! رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے صاحب کو بلاؤ۔ میں حضرت ابو بکر کے پاس مسجد میں پہنچا، روتا ہوا حیران تھا۔ انہوں نے دیکھا تو فرمایا: کیا رسول اللہ کا وصال ہو گیا؟ میں نے کہا: عمر کہتے ہیں کہ جو وصال کا ذکر کرے گا اسے تلوار سے ماروں گا۔ فرمایا: چلو۔ ساتھ چلے، لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس داخل ہو چکے تھے۔ فرمایا: لوگو! مجھے جگہ دو۔ لوگوں نے جگہ دی۔ آپ نے جھک کر دیکھا اور چھوا اور فرمایا: اِنَّکَ مَیِّتٌ وَّاِنَّہُمْ مَیِّتُوْنَ (بے شک تم بھی مرنے والے ہو اور وہ بھی مرنے والے ہیں)۔ لوگوں نے پوچھا: کیا رسول اللہ کا وصال ہو گیا؟ فرمایا: ہاں۔ پوچھا: کیا نماز جنازہ ہو گی؟ فرمایا: ہاں۔ پوچھا: کیسے؟ فرمایا: ایک جماعت آئے تکبیر کہے، نماز پڑھے، دعا کرے، پھر نکلے۔ پھر دوسری جماعت آئے، یہاں تک کہ سب لوگ داخل ہو جائیں۔ پوچھا: کہاں دفن ہوں گے؟ فرمایا: جہاں اللہ نے ان کی روح قبض فرمائی ہے وہیں، کیونکہ اللہ نے ان کی روح پاک جگہ پر ہی قبض فرمائی ہے۔ پھر حکم دیا کہ ان کے خاندان والے غسل دیں۔ مہاجرین جمع ہوئے مشورے کے لیے اور انصار کے پاس گئے۔ انصار نے کہا: ایک امیر ہمارا اور ایک تمہارا۔ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: کس کے لیے یہ تین خصوصیتیں ہیں: ثَانِیَ اثْنَیْنِ اِذْ ہُمَا فِی الْغَارِ اِذْ یَقُوْلُ لِصَاحِبِہٖ لَا تَحْزَنْ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ مَعَنَا (دو میں سے دوسرا جب وہ غار میں تھے جب اپنے ساتھی سے کہہ رہے تھے غم نہ کر بے شک اللہ ہمارے ساتھ ہے)۔ وہ دونوں کون ہیں؟ پھر ہاتھ بڑھایا اور بیعت کی اور لوگوں نے خوبصورت بیعت کی۔
