وعنها أن قريشاً أهمهم شأن المرأة المخزومية التى سرقت فقالوا: من يكلم فيها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم؟ فقالوا: من يجترئ عليه إلا أسامة بن زيد حب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم؟ فكلمة أسامة، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: “أتشفع في حد من حدود الله تعالى؟!” ثم قام فاختطب ثم قال: “إنما أهلك من قبلكم أنهم كانوا إذا سرق فيهم الشريف تركوه، وإذا سرق فيهم الضعيف أقاموا عليه الحد! وايم الله، لو أن فاطمة بنت محمد سرقت لقطعت يدها” ((متفق عليه)) .
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat 'Aishah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Quraish were much worried about the case of a Makhzumiyah woman who had committed theft and wondered who should intercede for her with Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) (so that she would not get punished for her crime). Some said Hadrat Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be well pleased with him) was his beloved and so he may dare do so. So Hadrat Usamah(may Allah be well pleased with him) spoke to him about that matter and the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated to him, "Do you intercede when one of the legal punishments ordained by Allah has been voilated?" Then he got up and addressed the people saying, "The people before you were ruined because when a noble person amongst them committed theft, they would leave him, but if a weak person amongst them committed theft, they would execute the legal punishment on him. By Allah, were Hadrat Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), to commit the theft, I would have cut off her hand.".
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ قریش کو مخزومیہ عورت کا معاملہ فکر میں ڈالے ہوئے تھا جس نے چوری کی تھی۔ وہ کہنے لگے: اس کے بارے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے کون بات کرے؟ کہنے لگے: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے محبوب حضرت اسامہ بن زید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے سوا کون جرأت کر سکتا ہے؟ حضرت اسامہ نے آپ سے بات کی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا تم اللہ تعالیٰ کی حدود میں سے ایک حد میں سفارش کرتے ہو؟ پھر آپ کھڑے ہوئے اور خطبہ دیا اور فرمایا: تم سے پہلے لوگوں کو اسی چیز نے ہلاک کیا کہ جب ان میں کوئی شریف شخص چوری کرتا تو اسے چھوڑ دیتے، اور جب کوئی کمزور چوری کرتا تو اس پر حد جاری کرتے۔ اللہ کی قسم! اگر فاطمہ بنتِ محمد بھی چوری کرتی تو میں اس کا ہاتھ کاٹتا۔ (متفق علیہ)
