Narrated the Mother of the Believers 'A'isha the Truthful (may Allah be pleased with her): I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), "Is the wall of the Hatim included in the House of Allah?" So he (peace be upon him) said, "Yes" (by this the view of Imam Abu Hanifa was refuted, and tawaf within the Hatim was rendered impermissible, because it is included in the House of Allah). I (then) said, "Why did they not include it in the House of Allah?" He (peace be upon him) said, "Your people ran short of funds." I (then) said, "Why is its door so high?" He (peace be upon him) said, "This too was done by your people, so that they might let in whomever they wished and not let in whomever they wished; and if your people had not so recently left the Jahiliyya, and I did not fear that they would regard it as disagreeable, then I would have intended to include the walls of the Hatim in the House of Allah and set its door level with the ground."
اردو ترجمہ
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہمیں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے پوچھا کہ کیا حطیم کی دیوار بیت اللہ میں داخل ہے؟ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ ہاں (اس سے امام ابوحنیفہ کا مذہب رد ہوا اور حطیم کے اندر طواف ناجائز ہوا اس لئے کہ وہ بیت اللہ میں داخل ہے) میں نے (پھر) عرض کیا کہ اس کو انہوں نے بیت اللہ میں کیوں نہ داخل کیا؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: تمہاری قوم کے پاس خرچ کم ہو گیا تھا۔ (پھر) میں نے عرض کیا کہ اس کا دروازہ کیوں اتنا اونچا ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ بھی تمہاری قوم کا کیا ہوا ہے تاکہ جس کو چاہیں اسے اس میں جانے دیں اور جس کو چاہیں نہ جانے دیں اور اگر تمہاری قوم نے نئی نئی جاہلیت نہ چھوڑی ہوتی اور مجھے یہ خیال نہ ہوتا کہ وہ اس کو ناگوار سمجھیں گے تو میں ارادہ کرتا کہ حطیم کی دیواروں کو بیت اللہ میں داخل کر دیتا اور اس کا دروازہ زمین کے ساتھ لگا دیتا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 770]
