انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Alqamah (may Allah be pleased with him): We went to Syria, and Abu ad-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us and said, "Is there any among you who recites the recitation of Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him)?" I said, "Yes! I do." He said, "How do you recite this verse ((wa-al-layli idha yaghsha))?" I said, "Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to recite it thus: ((wa-al-layli idha yaghsha wa-al-dhakari wa-al-untha))." He said, "By Allah! I too heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) reciting it just so, and the people here want me to recite ((wa ma khalaqa al-dhakara wa-al-untha)), but I do not accept their view." اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا علقمہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم شام کو گئے تو سیدنا ابوالدرداء رضی اللہ عنہ ہمارے پاس آئے اور کہا کہ تم میں کوئی سیدنا عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ کی قرآت پڑھنے والا ہے؟ میں نے کہا کہ ہاں! میں ہوں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تم اس آیت ((واللیل اذا یغشٰی)) کو کیسے پڑھتے ہو؟ میں نے کہا کہ سیدنا عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ اس طرح پڑھتے تھے ((واللیل اذا یغشٰی والذکر والانثٰی)) انہوں نے کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم! میں نے بھی رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو یونہی پڑھتے سنا ہے اور یہاں کے لوگ چاہتے ہیں کہ میں پڑھوں کہ ((وما خلق الذکر والانثٰی)) تو میں ان کی نہیں مانتا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2176]
