Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed you will follow the ways of the nations before you (that is, in sins and in opposing the religion, not that you will adopt disbelief) span by span and cubit by cubit, so that even if they entered the hole of a lizard, you too would enter it." We said, "O Messenger of Allah! By the nations before us do you mean the Jews and the Christians?" He (peace be upon him) said, "(If not them,) then who else?"
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: البتہ تم اگلی امتوں کی راہوں (یعنی گناہوں میں اور دین کی مخالفت میں نہ یہ کہ کفر اختیار کرو گے) پر بالشت برابر بالشت اور ہاتھ برابر ہاتھ چلو گے، یہاں تک کہ اگر وہ گوہ کے سوراخ میں گھسے تھے تو تم بھی گھسو گے۔ ہم نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! اگلی امتوں سے مراد یہودی اور نصاریٰ ہیں؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ (اگر یہ نہیں تو) اور کون ہیں؟[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2002]
