انگریزی ترجمہ
'Amir ibn Sa'd narrated from his father Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came one day from al-'Aliyah ('Aliyah are the villages that lie outside Medina) until he passed by the mosque of Banu Mu'awiyah. He entered it and prayed two rak'ahs, and we prayed with him (peace be upon him), and he made a very long supplication to his Lord. Then he came to us and said: "I asked my Lord for three things, but He granted me two prayers and did not grant one. I prayed to my Lord not to destroy my nation by famine (that is, the entire nation by famine), and Allah the Exalted granted this prayer. And I prayed that He would not destroy my (whole) nation by drowning in water, and Allah the Exalted granted this prayer also. And I prayed that the Muslims would not fight one another among themselves, but this He did not grant."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا عامر بن سعد اپنے والد سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمایک دن عالیہ (عالیہ وہ گاؤں ہیں جو مدینہ سے باہر ہیں) سے آئے حتیٰ کہ بنی معاویہ کی مسجد پر سے گزرے۔ اس میں گئے اور دو رکعتیں پڑھیں اور ہم نے بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ نماز پڑھی اور اپنے رب سے بہت طویل دعا کی۔ پھر ہمارے پاس آئے اور فرمایا کہ میں نے اپنے رب سے تین دعائیں مانگیں لیکن اس نے دو دعائیں قبول کر لیں اور ایک قبول نہیں کی۔ میں نے اپنے رب سے یہ دعا کی کہ میری امت کو قحط سے ہلاک نہ کرے (یعنی ساری امت کو قحط سے) تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ دعا قبول کی اور میں نے یہ دعا کی کہ میری (ساری) امت کو پانی میں ڈبو کر ہلاک نہ کرے، تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ دعا بھی قبول کی اور میں نے یہ دعا کی کہ مسلمان آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے نہ لڑیں، تو اس کو قبول نہیں کیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 2001]
