Narrated Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): I was playing with the children when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came. So I hid behind a door. He (peace be upon him) patted me (affectionately) with his blessed hand and said, "Go and call Mu'awiyah." I went, then returned and said, "He is eating." He (peace be upon him) again said, "Go and call Mu'awiyah." I again returned and said, "He is eating." He (peace be upon him) said, "May Allah not fill his belly." Ibn Muthanna said, "I said to Umayyah, 'What is the meaning of hata?' He said, 'Its meaning is that he (peace be upon him) struck Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) on the nape.'" (This hadith too carries the same meaning as in the preceding hadiths, that the Prophet [peace be upon him] made a condition with Allah, the Exalted, that if he said anything contrary to fact regarding someone, it should become a mercy for him. For this reason, this hadith is among the virtues of Mu'awiyah [may Allah be pleased with him].)
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہمیں بچوں کے ساتھ کھیل رہا تھا کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتشریف لائے۔ اور میں ایک دروازے کے پیچھے چھپ گیا۔ پس آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دست مبارک سے مجھے (پیار سے) تھپکا اور فرمایا کہ جا معاویہ کو بلا لا۔ میں گیا پھر لوٹ کر آیا اور میں نے کہا کہ وہ کھانا کھا رہے ہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پھر فرمایا کہ جا اور معاویہ کو بلا لا۔ میں پھر لوٹ کر آیا اور کہا کہ وہ کھانا کھا رہے ہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اللہ اس کا پیٹ نہ بھرے۔ ابن مثنیٰ نے کہا کہ میں نے امیہ سے کہا کہ”حطا“کا کیا مطلب ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا کہ اس کا معنی ہے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے گدی پر ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کو مارا۔ (یہ حدیث بھی اسی معنی میں ہے جیسے پچھلی احادیث میں گزرا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اللہ تعالیٰ پر شرط لگائی ہے کہ اگر کسی کے لئے خلاف واقعہ کوئی بات کر دوں تو اس کے لئے رحمت ہو جائے۔ اس لئے یہ حدیث معاویہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے مناقب میں ہے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1827]
