Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he (peace be upon him) was at that time at (the place) Ji'rana, between Makkah and Madinah, and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him. A bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Will you not fulfill your promise to me? He (peace be upon him) said: Rejoice. He said: You say to me "Rejoice" a great deal. Then he (peace be upon him) turned toward Sayyiduna Abu Musa and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with them both) in a state of anger and said: He has rejected the glad tidings, so you two accept them. Both said: O Messenger of Allah! We accept. Then he (peace be upon him) called for a bowl of water and washed his two hands and his face in it and put some of his saliva into it, and said to the two: Drink this water and pour it over your faces and chests, and rejoice. The two took the bowl and did so. The Mother of the Believers, Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), called out to them from behind the veil: Leave some of the water in the vessel for your mother too. So the two left some water in the vessel for her.
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس تھا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس وقت مکہ اور مدینہ کے درمیان (مقام) جعرانہ میں تھے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ تھے پس رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس ایک دیہاتی آیا اور کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! آپ میرے ساتھ اپنا وعدہ پورا نہیں کرتے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ خوش ہو جا۔ وہ بولا کہ آپ بہت فرماتے ہیں کہ خوش ہو جا۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسیدنا ابوموسیٰ اور سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہما کی طرف غصے کی حالت میں متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا کہ اس نے خوشخبری کو رد کیا اور تم قبول کرو۔ دونوں نے کہا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہم نے قبول کیا۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پانی کا ایک پیالہ منگوایا اور دونوں ہاتھ اور منہ اس میں دھوئے اور اس میں لعاب دہن ڈال کر دونوں سے کہا کہ اس پانی کو پی لو اور اپنے منہ اور سینے پر ڈالو اور خوش ہو جاؤ۔ ان دونوں نے پیالہ لے کر ایسا ہی کیا۔ ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ان کو پردہ کی آڑ سے آواز دی کہ برتن میں سے اپنی ماں کے لئے بھی کچھ پانی بچا لاؤ۔ پس ان دونوں نے اس برتن میں کچھ پانی ان کے لئے بچا دیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1706]
