انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him): I did not take part in Badr for the sole reason that I had set out with my father Husayl (this is the name of Hudhayfah's father, may Allah be pleased with him; some have said Hasl, and al-Yaman is his title, by which they are well known). The disbelievers of Quraysh seized us and said, "You intend to go to Muhammad (peace be upon him)?" We said, "We do not intend to go to him; we only intend to go to Madinah." Then they took from us a covenant and pledge in the name of Allah that we would go to Madinah and would not fight alongside Muhammad (peace be upon him). Then we came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and related this whole matter, and he (peace be upon him) said: "Go to Madinah; we will fulfill our covenant with them and seek help from Allah against them." اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا حذیفہ بن یمان رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں بدر میں صرف اسی وجہ سے شریک نہ ہوا کہ میں اپنے والد حسیل کے ساتھ نکلا (یہ سیدنا حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے والد کا نام ہے اور بعض لوگوں نے حسل کہا ہے اور یمان ان کا لقب ہے اور اسی سے مشہور ہیں) تو ہمیں قریش کے کافروں نے پکڑ لیا اور کہا کہ تم محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس جانا چاہتے ہو؟ پس ہم نے کہا کہ ہم ان کے پاس نہیں جانا چاہتے بلکہ ہم تو صرف مدینہ جانا چاہتے ہیں۔ پھر انہوں نے ہم سے اللہ کا نام لے کر عہد اور اقرار لیا کہ ہم مدینہ کو جائیں گے اور محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ ہو کر نہیں لڑیں گے۔ پھر ہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آئے اور یہ سب قصہ بیان کیا، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم مدینہ کو چلے جاؤ کہ ہم ان کا معاہدہ پورا کریں گے اور ان پر اللہ سے مدد چاہیں گے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1125]
