Narrated Usayd ibn Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him): One night he was reciting Surah al-Baqarah, and his horse was tethered near him. Meanwhile the horse began to shy; he fell silent and the horse settled down; he began to recite again and the horse began to shy again; he fell silent again and the horse settled down; he began to recite again and the horse began to shy again. Then he stopped (left off reciting), and his son Yahya was near the horse; he feared that the horse might trample him. When he moved him away from there and looked towards the sky, the sky could not be seen. In the morning he came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and related it, and he (peace be upon him) said, "O Ibn Hudayr! You should have kept reciting; O Ibn Hudayr! You should have kept reciting." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! Yahya was lying near the horse, and I feared that the horse might trample Yahya, so I raised my head and went back to him (Yahya). Then I raised my head towards the sky, and I saw a strange canopy-like cloud in which many lamps were lit; then I went outside until it vanished from my sight." He (peace be upon him) said, "Do you know what that was?" He said, "No." So he (peace be upon him) said, "Those were angels who had come near you on hearing your voice; if you had kept reciting until morning, other people too would have seen them (openly), and they would not have vanished from their sight."
اردو ترجمہ
سیدنا اسیدحضیر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہوہ ایک رات سورۃ البقرہ پڑھ رہے تھے اور ان کا گھوڑا ان کے قریب بندھا ہوا تھا۔ اتنے میں گھوڑا بدکنے لگا، وہ خاموش ہو گئے تو گھوڑا ٹھہر گیا، انھوں نے پھر پڑھنا شروع کیا تو گھوڑا پھر بدکنے لگا وہ پھر خاموش ہو گئے تو گھوڑا بھی ٹھہر گیا، وہ پھر پڑھنے لگے تو گھوڑا پھر بدکنے لگا، پھر وہ رک گئے (تلاوت چھوڑ دی) اور ان کا بیٹا یحییٰ گھوڑے کے قریب (لیٹا ہوا) تھا انھیں ڈر ہوا کہ گھوڑا اسے کچل نہ ڈالے۔ جب اسے وہاں سے ہٹا لیا اور آسمان کی طرف نگاہ کی تو آسمان دکھائی نہ دیا۔ انھوں نے صبح کو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے آ کر بیان کیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اے ابن حضیر! تو پڑھتا رہتا، اے ابن حضیر! تو پڑھتا رہتا۔“وہ بولے کہ یا رسول اللہ! یحییٰ گھوڑے کے قریب لیٹا تھا، مجھے خوف ہوا کہ کہیں گھوڑا یحییٰ کو کچل نہ دے پس میں نے سر اٹھایا اور اس (یحییٰ) کی طرف لوٹ گیا پھر میں نے اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا تو ایک عجیب سی چھتری نما بادل جس میں بہت سے چراغ روشن تھے، مجھے دکھائی دی، پھر میں باہر نکل آیا یہاں تک کہ وہ میری نظر سے غائب ہو گیا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”تجھے معلوم ہے کہ وہ کیا تھا؟“انھوں نے کہا”جی نہیں“تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”وہ فرشتے تھے تیری آواز سن کر تیرے پاس آ گئے تھے، اگر تو صبح تک پڑھتا رہتا تو دوسرے لوگ بھی انھیں (کھلم کھلا) دیکھ لیتے اور وہ ان کی نظر سے غائب نہ ہوتے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1815]
