حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً لاَ يَسْقُطُ وَرَقُهَا، وَإِنَّهَا مَثَلُ الْمُسْلِمِ، حَدِّثُونِي مَا هِيَ ". قَالَ فَوَقَعَ النَّاسُ فِي شَجَرِ الْبَوَادِي. قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَوَقَعَ فِي نَفْسِي أَنَّهَا النَّخْلَةُ، ثُمَّ قَالُوا حَدِّثْنَا مَا هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ " هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ ".
انگریزی ترجمہ
Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Among the trees there is a tree whose leaves do not fall, and it is like a Muslim. Tell me which tree it is. The people began thinking about the trees of the desert. Hadrat Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him) says: It came to my mind that it was the date-palm tree (but I remained silent out of shyness in the presence of the elders). Then the Companions submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), do tell us. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: It is the date-palm tree.
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: درختوں میں سے ایک درخت ایسا ہے جس کے پتے نہیں جھڑتے اور مسلمان کی مثال بھی یہی ہے۔ بتاؤ وہ کون سا درخت ہے؟ لوگوں کے خیالات جنگل کے درختوں میں چلے گئے۔ حضرت عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میرے دل میں آیا کہ وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے (مگر بزرگوں کی موجودگی میں شرم سے خاموش رہا)۔ آخر صحابۂ کرام نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ ہی فرما دیجیے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: وہ کھجور کا درخت ہے۔
