Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: The Jews would isolate women during menstruation and would not eat with them, nor drink with them, and would expel them from the houses. So it was revealed: 'They ask you about menstruation. Say: It is harm, so keep away from women during menstruation.' The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commanded us to eat with them, drink with them, and do everything except intercourse. The Jews said: 'Muhammad does not want to leave anything of our affairs except that he opposes us in it.' So Usaid ibn Hudair and 'Abbad ibn Bishr came to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the Jews are saying such and such, so would you permit us to have intercourse with them?' The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) became very angry at that, to the point that we thought he had found fault with them because of it. So they left. Then milk was gifted to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), so the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) sent after them and they came, and he gave them milk to drink from it. So we knew that he had not found fault with them. This hadith has been narrated by a group from Hammad ibn Salamah from Thabit from Anas, and it is a hadith uniquely narrated by Hammad, and we do not know anyone who narrated it from Hammad from Thabit and 'Asim except 'Amr ibn 'Asim.

حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: یہود حیض کی حالت میں عورتوں کو الگ کر دیتے، ان کے ساتھ کھاتے پیتے نہیں تھے اور انہیں گھروں سے نکال دیتے تھے۔ پھر نازل ہوا: 'وہ تم سے حیض کے بارے میں پوچھتے ہیں، کہو: یہ اذیت ہے، سو حیض میں عورتوں سے الگ رہو۔' رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہمیں حکم دیا کہ ہم ان کے ساتھ کھائیں پیئں اور ہم کر چیز کریں سوائے جماع کے۔ یہود نے کہا: محمد ہمارے کسی معاملے کو نہیں چھوڑنا چاہتے مگر یہ کہ اس میں ہماری مخالفت کریں۔ تو اسید بن حضیر اور عباد بن بشر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کی: یا رسول اللہ! یہود یہ کہہ رہے ہیں، تو کیا آپ ہمیں ان سے جماع کی اجازت دیتے ہیں؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اس پر بہت غصے ہوئے یہاں تک کہ ہمیں لگا کہ آپ نے ان پر ناراضگی ظاہر فرمائی۔ تو وہ واپس ہو گئے۔ پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو دودھ ہدیہ میں دیا گیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان کے پیچھے بھیجا اور وہ آئے، آپ نے انہیں وہ دودھ پلایا۔ تو ہمیں معلوم ہو گیا کہ آپ نے ان پر ناراضگی ظاہر نہیں فرمائی تھی۔ یہ حدیث حماد بن سلمہ سے ثابت سے انس سے ایک جماعت نے روایت کی ہے، یہ حماد کی منفرد روایت ہے، اور ہمیں معلوم نہیں کہ کسی نے اسے حماد سے ثابت اور عاصم سے عمرو بن عاصم کے علاوہ روایت کی ہو۔
