Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, he said: Abu Salih informed us, he said: al-Layth informed us, he said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to me, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Jaz' al-Zubaydi, may Allah be well pleased with him, who said: A man died who had come to the Prophet, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, and accepted Islam — he was a stranger. The Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, said while at the grave: "What is your name?" I said: "al-'Asi (the disobedient)." He said to Ibn 'Umar: "What is your name?" He said: "al-'Asi." He said to al-'Asi: "What is your name?" He said: "al-'Asi." So the Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him, said: "You are all 'Ubayd Allah (servants of Allah). Go down." He said: So we buried our companion, then we came out of the grave, and our names had been changed.
