أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ الْعَدْلُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنبأ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ لِصَاحِبِهِ أَنْصِتْ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَقَدْ لَغَا

Abu al-Husayn 'Ali ibn Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn Bishran al-'Adl informed us in Baghdad... from Isma'il ibn Muhammad al-Saffar... from 'Abd al-Razzaq... from Ibn Jurayj, from al-Zuhri, from Ibn al-Musayyib, from Abu Hurayrah - and Ibn Shihab said: ''Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz informed me from Ibrahim ibn 'Abdullah ibn Qariz, from Abu Hurayrah' - who said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: If a man says to his companion: Be quiet! while the imam is delivering the sermon, he has committed an act of idle speech.'
