أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَسْلَمَ قَالَ كَتَبَ عُمَرُ ؓ إِلَى أُمَرَاءِ الْأَجْنَادِ أَنِ اخْتِمُوا رِقَابَ أَهْلِ الْجِزْيَةِ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ

Abu 'Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us, Abu al-'Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Qabisah ibn 'Uqbah narrated to us from Sufyan, from 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Umar, from Nafi', from Aslam, who said: 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to the commanders of the armies: Seal the necks of the jizya people with identifying marks on their necks.
